Product Transition Engineer [back]

This position will coordinate, manage and provide engineering support for the design, documentation and ECO process during the product transition from prototype or first article stage to the production stage.

Responsibilities: 

  • Liaise between the Engineering Design and Manufacturing teams for a smooth transition to the Production Stage
  • Planning and scheduling design group efforts, documentation efforts and early production runs 
  • Production planning includes planning the production, coordination of the data into the MRP system, issuing material requests, coordinating the fabrication, assembly and test requirements
  • Documentation includes Bills of Materials (BOMís), Indentured Drawing Lists (IDLís), test procedures, manufacturing procedures, finalizing and checking engineering drawings for content and adherence to company standards

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering
  • At least 5 years Production or Project Management experience
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics, mechanical checking of drawings, writing test procedures, BOMís, IDLís, working with procedures, standards and quality instructions, writing specifications
  • High Voltage or High Power experience is desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Experience managing a cross-function team without direct supervision 
  • Attention to detail is critical in this role
  • Must have very strong organizational and planning skills
  • Must have ability to adapt to changing demands, be very resourceful in accomplishing things as an individual and as part of a team  and be tenacious in following tasks and projects through to completion

Product Transition Engineer Assistant [back]

The Product Transition Engineer Assistant position is responsible for coordinating, assisting in managing and providing engineering support for the design, documentation and ECO process during the product transition from prototype or first article stage to the production stage.

Prepper [back]

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn the processes and procedures used in the Winding Department as well as use of codes, job numbers, part numbers and drawing numbers 
  • Prepare insulation, winding fixtures, copper sheet, epoxies and solvents for the winding process as directed by product documentation and/or special instructions
  • Adhere to safety regulations and report any instances of safety violations to a supervisor or appropriate individual(s)
  • This position may eventually learn the winding process and assist with standard winding

Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of the proper use of measuring devices such as measuring tapes, scales, calipers, etc.
  • Ability to read production drawings is a plus
  • Interact with employees, vendors, customers and visitors in a professional manner
  • Ability to read, speak and legibly write in the English language
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to use a lift or hoist to safely lift and move large spools of wire weighing several hundred pounds as well as moving completed projects to finishing area

Current Transformer (CT) and Resistor Strips Assembler [back]

Responsibilities: 

  • Wind small magnetic cores by hand
  • Wrap winding and strip wires
  • Measure value of resistors
  • Install connectors on housing for CT
  • Assemble product inside the housing, hand off for testing
  • Solder the complete units and hand off for testing
  • Prepare the finished unit for painting by sanding and cleaning

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience soldering in very small areas using both 1inch and ½ inch diameter irons
  • Must be able to use very fine motor skills to complete delicate tasks
  • Knowledge of winding is a plus
  • Must be experienced with basic hand tools, using a tape measure,  and ohmmeter to check resistors
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Knowledge of the safe use of  a drill press
  • Ability to mix Hysol expoy and use an oxygen acetylene torch
  • Interact with employees, vendors, customers and visitors in a professional manner
  • Ability to read, speak and legibly write in the English language

Test Technician [back]

Responsibilities: 

  • Set up standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, variable power supplies, frequency counters, and circuitry) to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production systems in a safe manner
  • Collect, log, analyze and interpret test data 
  • Indicate test status on all product tested by stamping the product identification tags 
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems which may require collaboration with electrical engineers and other personnel
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and/or after assembly
  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations
  • Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
  • Complete certificates of compliance when needed

Qualifications: 

  • Two (2) years electronic/electrical testing and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Associateís Degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering is preferred 
  • Working knowledge of the proper use of electrical and mechanical test and inspection equipment, including DVMs, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, scales and other equipment
  • Demonstrated understanding of using Job Packets
  • Basic computer skills, use of e-mail and Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and basic mechanical drawings and documentation
  • Ability to work on Printed Circuit Boards, basic soldering rework skills
  • Ability to work with electronic test equipment and hand tools in a manufacturing production test environment; DMMs, oscilloscopes, pulse function generators, etc.
  • Ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams to solve complex problems
  • Interact with employees, vendors, customers and visitors in a professional manner
  • Ability to read, speak and legibly write in the English language
