Custom Power Supplies
Stangenes Industries produces SCR controlled DC power supplies that can either be built in standardized configurations or customized based upon client specifications. These DC power supplies can be manufactured as components of a larger system or as a complete “turnkey” system, depending on customer needs. Our power supplies operate on conventional 50-400 Hz power sources and supply output voltages over 300 kV, with average power ratings from 10kW up to 2MW.
In addition, Stangenes Industries has developed innovative switching power supplies that utilize advanced capacitor charging technology. This enables our units to be significantly lighter and more reliable than comparable products. Our state-of-the-art power conversion units use IGBT switches operating at high frequency. These zero-current-switching, quasi-resonant converters often contain no oil or other dielectric fluids. We have also developed an advanced Optimized Charging Cycle (OCC) that reduces the peak power consumption from the line. This feature enables charging of large capacitor banks without exceeding allowable average power. Stangenes Industries has produced many

Stangenes Industries has developed several advanced capacitor charging technologies. Our state-of-the-art power conversion units utilize IGBT switches operating at high frequency in a quasi-resonant design utilizing zero voltage switching topology. These units often contain no oil or other dielectric fluids, so these units are significantly lighter and more reliable than comparable units.
