Charging Inductors
Stangenes Charging Inductors have been constructed in so many shapes and sizes that it is impossible to show them all at once. The following description represents a broad category, which can be reconfigured almost infinitely.
This is a charging inductor for a line-type modulator, with a secondary winding used to regulate the PFN voltage (de-Q'ing). The charging inductor has an inductance of 0.12 H and is rated at 15 A peak, 4.5 A ave., 12.5 kVDC. The leakage reactance and distributed capacitance are kept very low to minimize their effect on the regulation.
